Raw materials of paper are manila hemp and spruce. Manila hemp is in the banana family and particularly known for being a fast growing ecological plant and minimizing erosion. Manila hemp we source grows in Philippines. Its fiber is extracted from the leaf stalks there. The fiber is used specialty papers including tea bags, medical papers, and currency notes because of its great mechanical strength.

Anti Odor &
Anti Bacterial

Paper yarn absorbs unpleasant odors and stops the growth of bacteria. Based on ISO test standards, our socks knit with paper yarn reduced 99% of Isovaleric acid gas and 98% of Acetic acid gas, which are the main culprits of foot odor and stopped the growth of Staphylococcus aureus that is odor-causing bacteria.

Isovaletic acid and acetic acid are commonly attributed to foot odor. Isovaleric acid has a strong pungent cheesy smell. Acetic acid, which vinegar contains, has a sour smell. They are the main culprits of foot odor!

Moisture-Wicking &
Quick Drying

Paper Yarn has much more pockets between its fibers than normal spun yarns, which allows for the moisture-wicking and quick-drying properties. These properties can help prevent athlete’s foot by keeping feet dry.
