Paper Project is for open minded people who are willing to try new things - even something as simple as a new material, like paper yarn. Our products are also open to new creation. We started the Blank Paper Project to promote our products as blank canvases to artists or brands that share our ethos to express themselves through and collaborate with.
Hand Tie Dye Collection
by Mitsuru Lowe
Mitsu, talented artist and designer of Peaboy, is the first collaborator of the Blank Paper Project. Mitsu’s talented hand tie dye is a work of improvisation reflecting his emotion and transitions of seasons. A passionate artist and devoted father, he enjoys dyeing from the bottom of his heart like the way he loves his six year old daughter, who sometimes assists him with dyeing his products. That's why his works are not only beautiful but also embody his joy, which we have been captured by. He dyed our signature items with a new color pallet for us.
In AAPI heritage month, we’re happy and grateful to work with Mitsu and release tie-dyed items, a technique rooted in Asian countries including Japan. We will also donate a part of our monthly sales to Japan Society, an organization based in NY that exhibits Japanese art and holds Japanese cultural events. The organization also strives to facilitate the exchange of ideas, knowledge and innovation between the U.S. and Japan, and holds educational events for kids.
